So much confusion and discussions on this programe, which is still in construction. I decided to take a look at the numerous and confusing document that try to explain it for us. If the explanations about simplifying things are so confusing, then I think some better PR people and ofcourse less bureaucracy would be the best thing to do! I invite you to take a look at the few hundred pages of documents from the website ec.europa.eu. Its an educational programme from which all european no matter the age, should normally be able to benefit!
I tried to find my way and made a short description of the three main direction that the programme will follow, which actually are a continuation of the current LLP and YiA programmes. Found the main key activities interesting, although I have no idea on how exactly will they be implemented, the technical and financial arangements, who deals with these activities and how. Hope we will find out more in the following months. Still I find two things interesting: the accent on individual mobility – 66 % of the budget, will go to people and not to big organisations; normally it would mean less money on bureaucracy, but I have my doubts; the will to link bussiness to education and training, so give actually a very practical value to all these activities – help people develop skill in a real work place and find a job! My years as a teacher would have been easier, if in my educational system I would have had the possibility to benefit from a real traineeship and not just do a few hours of practice, from which I did not learn really much! I made this short description of the 3 key activities, keep in mind that the Jean Monet academic programme and a separate Sports action are planned also as part of the programme!
Why Erasmus for all? – Just a few short facts on the Programme Proposal for 2014 – 2020
The will to simplify the programme came from the fact that Life Long Learning programme has over 60 actions. Also YiA and LLP often have the same target group since young people can apply for actions under each programe. The programme will support three types of Key actions that actually continue the lines of the previous programme.
